The Basler Handelskammer dataset reconstructs the members and office staff of the Basler Handelskammer, the governing body of the Basler Handels- und Industrieverein, between 1876 and 1995. The records document the composition and development of one of Basel’s central commercial representative bodies across more than a century, identifying individual persons, their functions within the Handelskammer, and their years of service. This long temporal coverage makes it possible to trace institutional continuity, personnel turnover, and changes in the composition of the governing body and its administration. The dataset also connects Handelskammer personnel with actors documented elsewhere in the NOISE corpus, making overlapping memberships and wider institutional connections within Basel’s commercial landscape visible.
